Agaricus bisporus Extract/ powder
Agaricus bisporus, commonly known as cultivated button mushroom, is a basidiomycete mushroom native to the grasslands of Eurasia and North America. It is cultivated in more than 70 countries and is one of the most widely consumed and common mushrooms in the world. Agaricus bisporus has two colors when immature - white and brown - both of which have different names, and other names when mature, such as maroon, portobello, portobello, button and Paris mushroom. Agaricus bisporus extracts are rich in secondary metabolites, many of which have significant biological activities, providing a basis for the development of new drugs or nutraceuticals. Nutraceuticals can be defined as a substance that can be considered as a food ingredient for the prevention of disease occurrence. Dietary fiber, protein, peptides, amino acids, keto acids, minerals and antioxidant vitamins are examples of nutrients extracted from mushrooms. Agaricus plants are rich in these compounds, making them a powerful source of potential bioactive compounds. However, long-standing traditional use and intensive research have demonstrated that a variety of fungi contain important bioactive components that are beneficial for a range of diseases, including immune and inflammatory diseases, cancer, hypertension, stroke, diabetes and hyperlipidemia.
